WHY I SWITCHED FROM MAILCHIMP TO MAILERLITE

It’s no secret that every business owner needs to grow and nurture their email list in order to be more successful. As they say, the money is in your list. So it’s important to choose an email marketing service provider that works best for you.

There are a lot of services to choose from to build and grow your email list, but I’m only going to talk about two here: Mailchimp and Mailerlite. That’s because I have the most experience in these two and recently made a switch from one to the other.

First, I want to make it clear that Mailchimp is not all bad. In fact, there are a lot of great things about it. I personally used it for a few years and did enjoy it for a while.

However, when I heard about Mailerlite and how it’s even better than Mailchimp, I had to give it a try. And once I tried it, I immediately made the switch.

HERE ARE THE MAIN 3 REASONS I SWITCHED FROM MAILCHIMP TO MAILERLITE…

1. Better forms & templates

This one was a biggie for me. In Mailchimp, the forms & templates were… meh. In Mailerlite, on the other hand, they are so much prettier and more professional-looking.

I find the customization on these much more robust and easier to figure out. Plus, I’m able to create forms like buttons, pop-ups and landing pages. And even though, Mailerlite forms are not built-in to Squarespace the way Mailchimp is, it’s still incredibly easy to add the forms in through code, blocks or buttons. They will even give you instructions on how to do it.

2. Better automation

I love how easy it is to set up automation in Mailerlite! And you can enjoy full access to all their automation features even in the free plan. Plus, I find it very enjoyable and easy to set them up. In Mailchimp, I found it a bit confusing and as a result, I often didn’t even want to bother with it.

Automation can help you reach more people and achieve a higher open rate, so it’s worth taking the time to set it up.

3. Customer service

This one was a really lovely surprise! Even with the free plan, you can expect top notch customer service at Mailerlite! Something you didn’t get with Mailchimp unless you paid for a premium plan.

Before I completely made the switch from Mailchimp to Mailerlite, I had a few questions to make sure it was going to work for me. So I started playing around with my new account (before I even imported all my contacts from Mailchimp). Naturally, I had a few questions and I started using the customer service chat box on their website.

I was amazed at how quickly their support staff answered all of my questions with a lot of detail. It felt like they went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. So even if you’re just getting started with a free plan, you can rest assured that you’ll be taken care of.

FINAL THOUGHTS…

Overall, I find the user interface easier at Mailerlite, which saves me time trying to figure things out. I’m happy with the way I can customize my forms and landing pages for newsletter sign-ups and I love the customer service available to me anytime I have a technical question.
