MY PARIS MEMORIES IN A BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOBOOK
In the year of 2017, I realized my lifelong dream of travelling to Paris, France. And to this date, it remains my favourite city I’ve ever been to.
However, it wasn’t until last year that I finally printed some of my photos from that trip in a beautiful little photobook.
The reason that happened in the first place was due to an ad I saw on Facebook by a company called Zno that was promoting their Little Black Book.
They offered a great deal at the time and it totally inspired me to take action.
I had been wanting to create my own photobooks for some time now and suddenly it seemed like the perfect timing.
Have a look at how it turned out in the Paris photobook video here.
(By the way, the quality of that book print is superb. If you’re thinking of creating your own photobook, I do recommend this company.)
I want to add that I don’t normally do black and white photography because I love colour too much! However, I turned some of my Paris photos into black and white because I wanted to give something new a try.
Mostly, my inspiration to dip my toes in that genre was thanks to the famous late Vivian Maier. She was a street photographer and most of her work was in black and white. She was mysterious, strange and very (secretly) talented. I recently acquired one of her books by John Maloof and I really enjoy looking at her photos! Little Black Book
It still boggles my mind that none of her incredible work was discovered until after her death. Hence, I believe this is one other reason I really value personal projects and sharing my work with the world.
So that’s what this blog post is really about. I want to start sharing my personal projects with my audience because I have so many interests in photography aside from what I specialize in, which is personal branding photography for small business owners. Perhaps now you’ll understand the inspiration behind my PRINT SHOP.
And, I also want to encourage YOU to share your personal projects with others. As creatives, we all have so many different ideas that it would be a shame to keep them all inside!
I encourage you to share in the comments below what you do for a living and what personal projects you like to work on.
