HOW TO CREATE AN AFFILIATE PAGE ON YOUR SITE & MAKE PASSIVE INCOME

PASSIVE INCOME: Income resulting from cash flow received on a regular basis, requiring minimal to no effort by the recipient to maintain it.

We all dream about it, we all want some. But many don’t know how to get started.

While there are many different ways to make passive income, one of the easiest ways to get started with it is to become an affiliate for other people’s stuff.

Affiliate marketing can be set up fairly easily. All you need to do is find some products or services that you love and would like to spread the word about while making commission.

The best way to do this is to ask companies whose products you’re already using if they have an affiliate program. If they do, sign up for it and start talking about these products whenever it makes sense. For example, in blog posts.

Another idea is to sign up for the Amazon Associates program and promote products from Amazon.

Whatever route you choose, this post is about showing you how to set up an affiliate page on your own website. So without further ado, let’s get started.

HOW TO CREATE AN AFFILIATE PAGE ON YOUR SITE

I got inspired to write this post because one of my clients recently hired me to create such a page for her Squarespace site and we both think it turned out awesome. 😉

So first you need to decide where on your site you want the page to appear. My client, Jen, often talks about spiritual-type products in her Facebook group, so she wanted an easy-to-find place for her tribe to be able to see links to these products.

In her case, we decided to place the page in the main navigation menu. We called it “Trending” – short for “What’s trending with Jen”.

Next, I created a welcome section at the top of the page (right below the main banner) with a message from Jen to welcome her tribe.

Then, I created separate sections for each of the four categories that Jen wanted to have on her page. I used the image blogs with links to individual pages for each category. This way I could keep this main page nice and clean.

I created these four individual pages under NOT LINKED:

Each of these pages contains links to all of the items Jen’s recommending with direct links to Amazon. This is where you’d need to use your own referral links provided to you by Amazon after you sign up with them.

Then, Jen wanted to add some other things she loves recommending to others (including ME, oh my!) that are not part of her affiliate sales. So I created this section with direct links to those products and services.

And that’s how I completed this affiliate page on Jen’s website. You can head over to her site to view the entire page live right here.
